REMONUMENT. The Art Exhibition at the Truly Yours Tattoo Fest. REMONUMENT goes far beyond classic tattoo art. Bringing together over 50 international artists this exhibition creates a space where different approaches and perspectives come together, all centered around Wiesbaden. The starting point are motifs with a direct connection to the city, like the Oranien Monument at Luisenplatz or the water tower on the Schlachthof grounds. But these places aren’t just referenced, they’re taken apart, reworked, and pushed into new directions. Each artist brings their own language into it, reshaping and rethinking what’s already there.
The result are contemporary re-monuments. Familiar images placed in new contexts, shifting how we see them and what they can stand for. REMONUMENT connects subculture with the city’s history and brings international styles into a local context. It opens the evening before the festival and will be accessible throughout the entire Truly Yours Tattoo Fest, for visitors, locals, and anyone interested in art. More than just part of the festival, it’s its own moment, a dialogue between artists and the city, between what was there before and what it can become.
